Our Ministries

Small Groups

At Calvary, we believe our church must grow larger and smaller at the same time. We grow larger to reach as many people as possible with the life-giving message of Jesus. We gather in small groups, build community and care for people. Calvary is a church of small groups, not a church with small groups. We base our small group model on the early church as described in the Bible in the book of Acts. In Acts, you can read about the tremendous growth of the first church in Jerusalem, where small group meetings in homes helped lay the foundation. Small groups have one, simple purpose to bring people together. We believe God created us to live in community with others, and only then can we experience the full life he intends for us. We believe life change happens in context of relationships. Meaningful relationships can be hard to find, and small groups exist to make life-changing relationships relevant and accessible to you.

Children’s Ministries

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6)

At Calvary, we believe that the future of the church depends on effective ministry to children today. The Children’s Ministry Staff is dedicated to investing in the spiritual growth of its students through programs that are fun, nurturing, and Bible-based.

Kids Church

Kids Church takes place during Sunday service and provides a safe, engaging environment where children experience age-appropriate worship, Bible teaching, and activities designed to help them grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Kids Life

Kids Life class meets during Wednesday night service, giving children a fun and structured space to learn biblical truths while parents participate in the main service, knowing their kids are cared for and encouraged.

The City - Youth

The City – Youth (ages 13-17) is a place where students can belong, grow, and discover how their faith connects to everyday life. We’re a community of students who are passionate about Jesus, authentic relationships, and living out our faith together.

Through youth services and special events like Summer Camp and Illinois Youth Convention, students have opportunities to connect with God, build lasting friendships, and grow alongside other believers in a fun, welcoming environment.

Join us for Youth Class on Wednesdays at 7PM, where students gather for relevant teaching, real conversations, and meaningful connection with peers and leaders who care.

Hyphen - Young Adults

Hyphen is a community for young adults ages 18–30 who are navigating real-life questions about faith, purpose, relationships, and the future. Whether you’re figuring out your next step in school or career, learning how to handle heartbreak or disappointment, or simply trying to grow closer to God, you’re not alone—and you’re welcome here.

We believe being a single young adult isn’t a problem to fix, but a powerful season to grow. Through Bible-centered teaching, prayer, and meaningful connection, Hyphen is designed to help young adults deepen their relationship with God and apply biblical truth to everyday life.

Hyphen bridges the gap between youth and family ministries by creating space to wrestle with real issues—spiritual growth, relationships, finances, calling, and living out your faith with purpose. We’re also passionate about helping young adults find their place in the Body of Christ, not just by being served, but by discovering where they can serve and make an impact.

Join us for Hyphen Class on Wednesdays at 7PM and grow alongside other young adults who are walking the same journey.

Ladies Ministry

At Calvary, ladies of all ages are invited into a community of fellowship with each other through a variety of gatherings, both spiritual and social.  Whether you attend one of our local Ladies Ministry events or regional Ladies Retreats, or offer your time and effort in staffing an event, you will be blessed.  Fellowshipping with other Godly women, for any purpose, will enrich your life.

Men’s Ministry

Men’s Ministry coordinates a variety of spiritual and social functions throughout the year for the purpose of building a sense of comradery amongst the men, both young and not-so-young, of Calvary.  Men’s Ministry also coordinates work days throughout the year for special projects and yearly up-keep on the church campus.  Proverbs 22:17 says, “as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another”.  The Men’s Ministry is committed to building Godly relationships between the men of Calvary. Don’t miss out!

Family Ministry

The Family Ministry coordinates several social events throughout the year that serve to encourage and strengthen the family unit: family bowling/skating nights, camping trips, and our annual Family Fall Fest, to name a few.  Don’t let your family miss out on the opportunity to participate in good food, good fellowship, and good fun with the families of Calvary.
